Save Money
By shutting down worker dynos for you when there are no jobs to be processed, you aren't wasting money on idle worker dynos.
Stay Performant
When your app experiences heavy traffic, we'll make sure it'll be able to handle it by auto-scaling your web dynos.
Process Jobs Faster
By auto-scaling worker dynos up and down, you can process more jobs concurrently without increasing your worker fees.
Monitored By The Minute
Your application's processes are constantly monitored and will be adjusted based on your configuration and the queue size.
All of Heroku's stacks are currently supported:
Supported worker libraries:
Supported web frameworks:
Application servers that support Rack
It's for anyone who has Heroku applications, really. Whether it's for your personal site or for a large "Software as a Service" application.
HireFire has the ability to automatically scale your web and worker dynos up and down when necessary. When new jobs are queued in to your application's worker queue (Delayed Job, Resque), HireFire will spin up new worker dynos to process these jobs. When the queue is empty, HireFire will shut down the worker dynos again so you're not paying for idle workers.
HireFire also has the ability to scale your web dynos. When your web application experiences heavy traffic during certain times of the day, or if you've been featured somewhere, chances are your application's backlog might grow to a point that your web application will run dramatically slow, or even worse, it might result in a timeout. In order to prevent this, HireFire will automatically scale your web dynos up when traffic increases to ensure that your application runs fast at all times. When traffic decreases, HireFire will spin down your web dynos again.
Note that both the web dynos and worker dynos fees on Heroku are pro-rated to the second. That means that if HireFire spins up a worker dyno for only 20 hours a month, you only pay Heroku about $1 instead of $35. It can be a huge money saver.
